Researchers are working on a new delivery system for the nitric oxide substance also referred to NO. This substance is responsible for effects of Viagra and important breakthroughs have been achieved due to tests which may lead to a new delivery system to treat conditions such as: heart disease, skin ulcer, significant wounds and other such conditions. The full report on this issue was included in the Journal of the American Chemical Society.
The reported development until now led to finding of a new absorbent material that can carry important amounts of NO in various quantities. This material will then release the necessary level of NO into the bloodstream depending on the required level of NO according to each condition to be treated. This research is mainly performed by João Rocha and colleagues who concluded that the development achieved until now is the first stage in the full application and usage of this type of material in therapy. Since so many technological breakthroughs are possible, new materials are soon to be developed to ease the delivery system and allow NO to be transported all over the world in biological amounts.
Since NO is able to cure so many conditions, there has to be found a reliable and easy solution to deliver this substance to those in need.
